Abstract

Jember Regency has 461 irrigated areas with seventy-nine irrigation areas covering a total area of ​​16,471 ha which are supplied with water from the Mayang River. Productivity for rice and corn is still fluctuating. Based on this, it is necessary to determine water requirements using the LPR - FPR method to determine the appropriate cropping pattern based on the available water availability. The results showed that irrigation areas in the Mayang watershed experienced excess water during the rainy season (MH) with 33 irrigation areas (42%), dry season I (MK I) and 34 irrigation areas (43%), and dry season II (MK II). ) there are 32 irrigation areas (41%) and all irrigation areas have a cropping index of less than 300%. In addition, in the rainy season (MH) there are 46 irrigation areas (58%), dry season I (MK I) there are 45 irrigation areas (57%), and dry season II (MK II) there are 47 irrigation areas (59%) who suffer from water shortages. This shows that the cropping pattern currently applied is still not optimal. The cropping pattern that should be used is 3 times Rice for 44 irrigation areas (56%), Padi – Padi – Palawija for 1 irrigation area (1%), Paddy – Palawija – Palawija for 1 irrigation area (1%) and 3 times Palawija for 30 irrigation areas (42%). The application of the right cropping pattern is expected to be able to increase the maximum cropping index which will also increase productivity in Jember Regency. Recommendations for further research to determine the effect of damage to irrigation assets based on priority of improvement on the cropping index.
